Reports of uprooting of trees and power cuts were also received from several areas of the city. The Met Office recorded a rainfall of 7.7 mm till Sunday morning. The rains, however, brought down the mercury, giving some relief to citizens. The minimum temperature recorded on Sunday morning was 24.7 degrees Celsius, two notches below normal. Eight-year-old Soni died when the roof of the house in Mohan Garden area gave in as showers accompanied by lightning and strong winds with a speed of 100 km per hour hit the city on Saturday night. Six others sustained minor injuries in the incident and were taken to Deen Dayal Upadhyay Hospital.
